Elaine Hahn, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, holds a BA and MA in Art from the University of Missouri, and has studied with noted artists throughout the United States, England and Mexico. Her early career was influenced by her experience at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. Elaine Hahn is a Signature member of the American Watercolor and the National Watercolor Societies. She is also a Signature member of the Florida Plein Air Society and a member of the Oil Painters of America. Her paintings have achieved prominence through acceptance and awards in major national juried exhibitions. Her works are included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. She has taught and conducted Workshops in the US and Europe and has served as a judge in Art Shows on the local, regional and national levels.
Her work has been published by Rockport Publishers in the Best of Watercolor and the Best of Florals. She was also a featured Artist in Watercolor Magic Magazine, published by Artist's Magazine, and in the U. S. Art Magazine-Introductions of 29 Artists Worthy of Collector's Attention. Her work has been included in the publications The Artistic Touch 3, by Creative Art Press, the Southeaster Framer Magazine, Splash 5: Best of Watercolor -The Glory of Color, Splash 6 – The Magic of Texture, and Splash 7 – The Qualities of Light, by North Light Books. In July 2005 she was a featured Artist in Décor Magazine’s Biography Series and the Marine Artist in the March 2006 issue of Art Business News. In 2007 she was included in the book Best of America-Watercolor by Kennedy Publishing Inc. In 2009 she was published as a finalist in the International Artist Magazine Landscape Challenge in the February-March issue. In 2010 she is one of ten artists profiled in The Artist Magazine March issue - Stellar At 60+.
She works from her studio on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida, where she focuses her efforts on developing and expanding her Oil painting techniques, capturing images of the beautiful coastal and marine subjects in the area, and traveling for painting and Plein Air Events throughout the United States and Europe.
Elaine’s images have also been selected through her Art Licensing Program by national firms in the manufacture of gift products including Christmas cards, magnets, notebooks, stationery, gift bags and many other products.
